Mr. Ebert attended the Juilliard Pre-College Division as a scholarship student of Mr. Leon Russianoff at the age of 14. He later studied extensively with Mr. Kalmen Opperman of New York City while attending Columbia University. In New York City he had an active free-lance career performing with such groups as the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Opera Orchestra of NY, Manhatten Philharmonic, Eglevsky Ballet Co. and the San Francisco Ballet Co. while they were on tour in New York City. He joined the US Navy Band of Washington DC in 1996 where he was a member of the Concert/Ceremonial Band and in 2006 joined the US Army Band “Pershings Own” based out of Fort Myer, VA where he was the Asst. Principal Clarinetist of the Concert Band. Since November of 2019, Mr. Ebert has been serving as a clarinetist for the Royal Hawaiian Band in Honolulu, HI and assumed the role of Principal Clarinet in January of 2023.
