Reid Ishikawa

Reid Ishikawa is a versatile multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Maui, Hawaii. After relocating to O'ahu in 2014, Reid has been on-call as a rhythm section musician, having accompanied and been featured alongside musicians including Ismael Miranda, Kenny Endo and the Taiko Center of the Pacific, and Stephanie Anne Johnson of NBC’s The Voice.
After graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a B.Ed in Secondary Music Education, Reid dedicated his time to freelance performing and teaching. During this time he was hired by the Royal Hawaiian Band, where he currently plays percussion, electric bass, and piano.
Aside from performing with the band, Reid is also busy as a composer and arranger. In 2024, Reid created Bento Box Music, a music composition and publishing service with the focus of providing Hawaiian-based wind and concert band music for schools and other educational institutions around the state. Reid’s music has been performed by numerous Hawaii middle and high schools, the University of Hawaii - West Oahu, and the Oahu Band Directors Association 2024 Middle School Select Band.
