Ryan Ng
Clarinet
Originally from Hawai‘i, Ryan graduated from Mililani High School and went on to pursue a degree in Music Business from the University of Miami. There he studied with Dr. Margaret Donaghue-Flavin and played with the university's wind ensemble and symphony orchestra. He also studied with Henry Miyamura, Scott Anderson, Dan Silver, and Lester Tanji.
Outside of the band, he has performed with the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Kamuela Philharmonic, University of Hawaii Symphony Orhcestra, Honolulu Civic Orchestra, Honolulu Wind Ensemble (Honolulu Community Band), and Honolulu Clarinet Quartet. Currently he has a private studio where he teaches piano and clarinet in central Oahu.
Ryan has been a member of the Royal Hawaiian Band since 2004 and is currently their Head Librarian/Equipment Manager and webmaster in addition to playing the clarinet. He also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawai‘i.
